Açaí, Surf, Sleep, Repeat. The life of professional surfer, Keani Canullo

Living the ultimate Hawaiian lifestyle, our star ambassador Keani Canullo embodies the spirit of Aloha with her passion for surfing, great food, and cherished friendships. A local professional surfer from Waikīkī, Keani’s kind, fun, and adventurous nature has made her a beloved figure in the surfing community.

Growing up on the island, Keani has been mastering the waves of her local breaks for years. Specializing in longboarding, she’s gearing up to compete in the 2024 WSL Women’s World Longboard Tour.

Favorite Surf Break

When asked about her favorite surf spot on the island, Keani’s choice is clear: “Queens, Waikīkī is my favorite surf break. It’s where I grew up, and I love being there, surrounded by friends and family in the water.” Queens is not only a popular surf break but also conveniently close to her home, making it a perfect spot for daily surf sessions and catching up with loved ones.

Memorable Surf Competitions

Reflecting on her favorite competition this year, Keani shares a particularly meaningful experience: “My favorite competition this year has been the Mexi Log Fest. It was my fifth time competing in the event, and I had come close to the final a few times. This year, I finally made it to the final and ended up winning. It was such a special moment for me, and I’m so grateful.” This victory was especially significant as it marked her first win at the Mexi Log Fest, showcasing her dedication and skill.

Nalu Menu Favorites

Keani also has a deep appreciation for great food, and her go-to at Nalu is the Açaí bowl:

“The Nalu Bowl is the perfect blend—neither too sweet nor too tart. It’s the best açaí on the island. I also love the turkey sandwich on a croissant; it’s amazing!”

Keani’s life is a beautiful blend of surfing, community, and delicious local food. We’re proud to have her as part of the Nalu family and can’t wait to see her continue to make waves in the surfing world!
